Davis On “That’s What She Said”: Using “The Office” to Teach Hostile Work Environment Law

Wade Davis, Minnesota State University, Mankato, Department of Accounting and Business Law, has published “That’s What She Said”: Using “The Office” to Teach Hostile Work Environment Law at 34 Southern Law Journa 157 (2024). Here is the abstract.

This article creates a case study using an episode of the television show “The Office” to teach hostile work environment law. Students are placed in the position of a Human Resource employee to tasked to investigate and report back on a potential hostile work environment situation at a branch office. Instructors are guided through a detailed lesson plan that deeply addresses the legal and practical questions at issue. The article also includes student handouts and evaluation material.
