Chocolate Chip Cookies For Brillat-Savarin’s Table

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees F.

Ingredients

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted softened butter

¾ cup granulated sugar

¾ cup granulated brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

You can add nuts or substitute other kinds of chips

Instructions

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, granulated brown sugar, and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until well-mixed and creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually mix in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate pieces. Use a tablespoon to drop rounds of the mixture onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown, depending on your oven. Cool for at least 2 minutes. Then remove from the baking sheets, either to wire racks or plates so the cookies can finish cooling.
